Stephanie began modeling in 1980, at the age of 15, under the guidance of John Casablancas and Elite Models "New Faces" division and in 1983, was sent to work with Elite"s european agent affiliates. In Munich Germany, after her first few weeks of meetings, or "go sees", she landed a fashion editorial story in Freundin Magazine and was quickly in demand by German catalogues, make-up and lingerie clients. Stephanie, working and confident, decided to make the move, in January of 1994, to Paris France, the international fashion hub, where she was represented by L'Agence Elite Paris. Within her first month, she met photographer Claus Wickrath, became his favorite model and was chosen for her first international beauty advertising campaign as the face for Helena Rubenstein International, Autumn/Hiver 84. In 1985, Stephanie and Claus celebrated the birth of their daughter, Zoe. The Paris years proved to be very fulfilling and the ultimate in modeling experiences. Stephanie's work demand and travels increased, taking her to over 15 countries and to some of the world's most exotic locations with many of the best photographers in Europe. After five years of being away from home and living in Europe, Stephanie was ready to return to the United States, and the "Big Apple" New York City, to work with Elite Model Management in 1987. Stephanie excitedly arrived in the Big Apple, and only a few weeks later, with mixed feelings, signed a six week contract, departing immediately, for work in Tokyo Japan with Elite Folio. While in Tokyo, with few days off, she explored the culture and the city's many shrines with the now famous "America's Next Top Model" judge, Miss Jay, formerly Jay Alexander. Stephanie later returned to New York ready to stay, and 1990 would prove to be her biggest year shooting nearly 30 commercials, traveling with catalogue and advertising clients, appearing in music videos and living a life among the celebrated throughout the 1990's. In January 2004, Stephanie focused on her acting and relocated to Los Angeles, defied the odds, and continues to work as a model. A natural chameleon, Stephanie has continued reinventing herself, sharpening her acting skills, staying in shape, on top of the trends, and in the industry's public eye. Stephanie has recently appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, The Young & The Restless, ER and the fall season is just getting started.
At the onset of the writers strike in 2007, Stephanie returned Memphis for the interim, where she now resides full time. Stephanie has Boutique Fine Art Lifestyle Photography Business, www.StudioNorwood.com. Since returning to Memphis she continues to model and act through Colors Models and Talent Agency and has appeared in several local Theatrical Productions, three Feature Films and numerous television commercials, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills with local talent via private coaching, classes and workshops.
